Dayla & Daisy
APRIL 2026
Dayla is studying at NAIT and is in her 2nd year. 2 year-old Daisy goes to daycare and enjoys interacting with the teachers and other children there. She particularly likes painting both with fingers and brushes!
Dayla loves her learning in the Culinary Arts program that fits practical and hands-on lessons with lectures. Dayla admits that it was hard work to get into the program since she had to make up high school credits, but she claims that it is well worth it now.
She wanted to do something with cooking since her junior high school cooking classes making croissants. Now, not only is she learning to be a professional chef, and she is also learning how to learn while realizing that she can accomplish anything if she tries hard. The best part, says Dayla, is that the pesto pasta, ragu and puff pastry that she learned at school tastes even better when she makes it for her family.
Her goal is to be a Red Seal Chef and work somewhere using the skills she has learned at NAIT.
NAIT’s Culinary Arts program is a two-year, full-time diploma offering hands-on training and real-world experience for aspiring chefs and culinary professionals. https://www.nait.ca/programs/culinary-arts
Dayla and Daisy were the winners of the 2025 Littlest Learners Christmas Auction, and received a basket filled with goodies to eat, play with, read and learn. This was the second year for the Lifelong Learning Canada auction with the intent to bring awareness and good deals to the highest bidder.
